Spring Forward

Spring Forward

The world of nature is waking up. The clocks jump ahead, and as we lose an hour, we leave winter behind along with it. It’s a fair trade!

It’s early yet, though, and we’re not entirely out of winter’s icy clutches. But the first signs of Spring are upon us... Birds and chipmunks chattering in the trees. Patches of green and the very first flowers. Sunshine that’s starting to feel warm once more.

As colour begins to creep back into the landscape, suddenly, the world seems like a fresh and exciting new place again, which — let’s face it — isn’t always the case. It feels good to align with something hopeful and bright. It changes our outlook and it changes our wardrobe, too, as we set aside thick, cold weather-wear, and re-introduce lighter clothing with splashes of colour.

About the Artist:

The Dancer Ankle Boot is designed by Janice Parsons, an Inuk artist from the Nunavik region, Inspired by her mother, a skilled seamstress, Janice started making earrings using sealskin, leather, and fox fur from her mother's scraps. Over time, her designs became more intricate, incorporating elements from her Inuit culture. As interest grew, Janice felt motivated to continue and share her creations with others.
